Weave In Extensions

Weaves are simply on the scalp braids, also known as cornrows, covered up by extension hair so directly on the braid. The problem is that tension is needed to security systems in place and the weight of the extension is not evenly distributed through the head can cause hair breakage. Another factor causing breakage in the systems is when the client goes to wash their hair. During washing, a lot of stress is placed on hair. Between the tension, the weight distribution of the extended hair and the added water weight will loosen the weave. A lot of people will not wash their hair as often as necessary to avoid this situation. It is also very hard to dry the braids under the extended hair properly, & wet hair or very dirty hair will sometimes cause a mildew odor.

Does it hurt? The extension artist should braid the tracks firmly but comfortably. The tension should be even all over your head with no points pulling or hurting. Do not put up with someone telling you it has to be really tight in order to be secure. Most hair, extension or otherwise needs to be loosened a bit for your scalp to breath, so if its any style that you are trying to live up to, make sure that it does not weigh your head down.

Even when you retire in the night, make sure that you have your hair either loosely tied in a braid or left open, if it’s short. At most times both hair and skin tend to breathe up to its maximum level so its important that you don’t fasten your hair tightly. Even as far as the face goes, its best that you don’t use a face mask over night, trust me it doesn’t do any wonders to your skin. And if the solution in the face pack leaks then you’re in for dooms day for the amount of mess it might put your hair in. Pulling your hair out is not the idea, when you are wearing hair extensions. You will know you have something on your head for the first day or two but after that you won't even feel that they are there.
